What are Fish?

Fish are cold-blooded aquatic animals. They are covered in gills and lack any arms, legs, or digits. There are nearly 32,000 different species of fish, making the group far more diverse than any other animal.

Did you know?

Like the rings on a tree trunk, the scales on a fish display signs of seasonal growth. A koi by the name of Hanako allegedly lived for 226 years before dying in Japan in 1977. Her legendary lifespan was confirmed after an inspection of her scales.
