WHAT CAN I LEARN?

Elmwood Park Zoo is dedicated to providing the community with varied learning experiences that encourage people to get involved in wildlife and environmental conservation activities.  Here at the zoo, visitors can enjoy our live animal shows, educational programs and interpretive stations; our Zoo-on-Wheels and community outreach programs bring the zoo experience into malls, community events, classrooms and theatres around the Delaware Valley.

We provide a similar experience online. Here you can satisfy your curiosity about our animal collection, experience interactive exhibit content, and plan an educational program for your institution.

Have you ever wondered how a timber wolf eats? Or why skunks smell so bad? Indulge your curiosity with a tour through our animal profiles, learning many animal facts as you go. Each animal in our collection is highlighted and explained, and you can travel on your own safari at home!

You can also explore our newest exhibit, Butterflies & Blossoms, in our virtual tour. You can learn to identify our butterfly and moth species, and find butterfly related activities to do online and at home!

If you are an educator and would like to plan an educational field trip to the zoo with your students, or arrange for the Zoo-on-Wheels to visit your classroom, our education team will work with you to develop an educational presentation that matches the age and learning abilities of your students. Elmwood Park Zoo's education programs are designed to meet Pennsylvania Department of Education standards in Environment, Ecology and Science. Explore our educational programs to see which program is right for you!
