Q:   How do I become a member?
A:   You can sign up for a membership online, by calling our Membership Coordinator at (610) 277-3825 x 275, or at the Zoo admissions counter.
Q:   How long does my membership last?
A:   Memberships are valid for one year through the end of the month they are purchased (ex: If you purchase your membership May 14, 2013 the expiration date is May 31, 2014).
Q:   Why do I need to show my photo I.D. when I come to the Zoo?
A:   Presenting photo I.D. ensures that the name on the membership card matches the name on the I.D. and prevents membership misuse.
Q:   What type of benefits will I receive for being a member?
A:   In addition to free admission throughout the year, EPZ Members receive 10% off café food and drinks, souvenirs from the gift shops, and birthday party packages. Members receive free or discounted admission to Zoo events. They also have access to a number of members-only events and previews held throughout the year.
Q:   When and how will I receive my membership card?
A:   Your membership card(s) will be mailed to the address indicated on your membership form and will arrive approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the date of purchase. If this time has lapsed and you have not received your card, please contact our Membership Coordinator at (610) 277-3825 ext. 275. You may use your receipt and/or photo I.D. as a temporary membership card if you wish to visit the Zoo before you have received your permanent card.
Q:   Can I bring guests with my membership?
A:   Depending on the level of the membership you have chosen, the number of people admitted varies. Guests are permitted with Senior, Individual, Zoo for Two, Family Plus and Family & Friend memberships. At least one person whose name appears on the card must be present for each visit. Guests must be accompanied by a member. Children 2 years old and younger are always free, and therefore do not count as a member’s guest.
Q:   I lost my membership card, how do I get a new one?
A:   Replacement cards can be ordered by calling our Membership Coordinator at (610) 277-3825 x 275 or at the Zoo admissions counter. Replacement cards have a fee of $5.00 and will arrive in the mail approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the date of purchase. In the meantime, photo I.D. may be used as proof of membership.
Q:   How many membership cards are included with my membership?
A:   Family & Friend memberships include two cards because there are three adult names on the card. All other memberships include one card. If you wish to have more than one card, you can purchase additional cards for $5.00 each.
Q:   Can I use my Elmwood Park Zoo membership at other zoos and aquariums?
A:   Yes. Elmwood Park Zoo memberships have reciprocity at over 100 zoos and aquariums around the country. Please keep in mind that most locations are not free, and that an EPZ membership may only be valid for discount admission. For a full listing of participating locations, click here.
Q:   Can I purchase a membership as a gift for someone else?
A:   Yes, gift memberships can be purchased online here. Be sure to indicate if you would like the card sent to yourself or to the recipient. Please keep in mind that membership cards take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to arrive, so plan ahead.
Q:   I paid for admission and then decided to purchase a membership. Can my admission cost be applied to my membership?
A:   Admission can be applied toward a membership only if the membership is purchased on the same day as the visit. The receipt must be presented and surrendered at the time of purchase. Only the qualifying admission cost can be applied to the membership.
Q:   Is my membership tax deductible?
A:   A portion of your membership cost is tax deductible. Please contact our Finance Office at (610) 277-3825 x 223 for more information.
