Adopt an Animal!
Adopt an Eagle, a Bison, a Cougar with over 300 animals at Elmwood Park Zoo the choice is yours. Adopting an animal as a group, for a friend or yourself is a rewarding and easy way of supporting the Zoo. Your annual adoption fee helps maintain the highest care for our animals, and helps offset the cost of feeding, housing and veterinary care all year! Become a ZooParent and help children learn about conservation and the joy of giving. Adoption Fee’s help cover these costs and are tax deductible.
To adopt, simply select the animal or animals of your choice from the Zoo's collection, fill out the enrollment form, and send it with payment to Elmwood Park Zoo. Your package will arrive in three to six weeks.
Due to popularity, some animals may have more than one sponsor or ZooParent. Be aware that animals are subject to unpredicted changes. They may become injured, ill, or may be transferred to another Zoo. When necessary, Elmwood Park Zoo reserves the right to transfer your adoption to another suitable animal.
Please remember the animals remain in the Zoo and are cared for by trained zookeepers. As a ZooParent we hope you will visit them often!

Group Levels
Group adoptions range from $75 - $125 and are great for schools, scout groups, businesses, or clubs – any group can participate. Enlarge your family circle with gift adoptions for birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion.
- $75 Group Package Includes*:
- Adoption certificate for your group
- 8 x 10 laminated photo of your animal
- A Fact sheet about your animal
- One wallet size photo for each member of your group
- Your group name on Zoo's Adoption Board
- $125 Group Package Includes*:
- All the benefits of the $75 package
- PLUS: A scheduled keeper talk about your adopted animal at the zoo.**
*Groups are a minimum of 10 people & a maximum of 120 people.
