Learn about our natural resources, how a food chain functions, and find out how we can help endangered species.Completes all requirements.

Learn about how some animals use camouflage to protect themselves and talk with Zoo staff about how we aid in wildlife conservation.Completes all requirements.

Scout Overnights (Open to all scouts Cub/Boy/Girl)

Monday through Sunday nights, year round 7:30 pm - 9:00 am

They're back! The evening may include games, nocturnal animal encounters, stories and more! Troops tent outside or sleep indoors during the colder months.  In the morning, enjoy a continental breakfast and feed the barn animals!

Maximum 25 people - Fee $30 per person (scouts and adults) $35 per person indoor
Fee includes program, snacks, and beverages. Cold breakfast and zoo patches.

Girl Scouts:  Brownie Try-Its

Try-It Topics Offered: New! Senses , Animals, Eco-Explorer, Watching Wildlife

Each try-it workshop is 1 1/2 hours long and includes live animal encounters, hands-on activities.  Workshops complete part of the requirements for Try-Its.

Girl Scouts:  Junior Girl Scout Badges

Badge Topics Offered: Careers at the Zoo, Earth Connections, Wildlife, Plants and Animals

Each badge workshop is 1 1/2 hours long and includes live animal encounters, hands-on activities.  Workshops complete part of the requirements for badges.

Girl Scouts: New! Daisy Petals

Petal Topics Offered: Make the World a Better Place. Learning Petal Rose Using Resources Wisely. Green learning petal

Each badge workshop is 1 hour long and includes live animal encounters, hands-on activities.

Boy and Girl Scouts: Night-time Explorers

Fridays or Saturday Nights, 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Available only September through March, and in the month of July.

Join us for a nighttime adventure at the Zoo!  Tour the Zoo by flashlight, learn about nocturnal animals, and enjoy many activities after-hour at the Zoo!

Maximum 20 people - Fee $15 per person (scouts and adults)
Fee includes program, snacks, and beverages. Dinner not included.

Zoo-on-Wheels:  We can attend your scout meetings!

Invite the Zoo out to your scout meetings for a unique and educational experience!  Our Zoo-on-Wheels Animal Encounters program travels to various locations (up to 40 minutes one-way) with 3 live animals and touchable artifacts.  Programs are 30-40 minutes in length and include discussions on diet, habitat, and other interesting characteristics of the Zoo's program animals.

Maximum 300 people - Fee $375 per 30-40 minute program
Fee includes program and travel expenses.

Rates

Registration for all scout programs (unless otherwise noted) is $10.50 per scout.  One scout leader is free with every 5 scouts in attendance.  Additional adults may attend at a price of $5.75 per person.  A minimum of 8 scouts is required to schedule any program.  Fees include admission to the program, admission to the Zoo before and after the program and a memorable experience for all! Please note that Elmwood Park Zoo cannot provide required badges or pins sold by Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts of America.
