Zoo Amenities

To make your visit as enjoyable as possible, Elmwood Park Zoo’s Guest Services Department is pleased to provide you with a wide range of amenities.

Accessibility

Elmwood Park Zoo’s buildings and grounds are fully accessible. Complimentary wheelchairs are available at the Admissions Window.

Admissions

The admissions window is located immediately inside the main entrance gate to the zoo. Occasionally, visitors will be directed to the admissions desk located in Lenore Weiss Nature shop in the adjoining building. Payment types accepted include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Dining

Cougar Café offers a delicious menu of sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, and other child-friendly selections. An assortment of beverages is also available. From March 5 through September 30, the café will be open daily from 10:30 am through 4:00 pm.

Groups of more than 15 people must make arrangements to enter the café at one time. Specialty group lunches are available; these lunches require advance reservation and payment in full.

The Canopy Gardens Pavilion is also available for rental for special occasions such as weddings, birthday parties, employee picnics and other group outings. For more information about holding your group event in the Canopy Gardens, contact Guest Services at 610.277.3825 x240

Parking

Parking is free! Spaces are limited and fill up quickly in the morning, so plan your trip accordingly.

Rest Rooms

Rest rooms are available in the main building and in the ground floor of the Bayou Building. Rest rooms are wheelchair accessible.

Shopping

The award-winning Lenore Weiss Nature Shop offers an eclectic mix of animal-themed educational toys and gifts, and logo t-shirts, coffee mugs, hats and posters. The Lenore Weiss Nature Shop is open daily from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Admission to the zoo is not required in order to enter.

Special Attractions

Elmwood Park Zoo’s Live Animal Encounters are offered in the ZooBowl outdoor amphitheatre. The schedule for these shows varies and may be obtained from the Guest Services department. Live Animal Encounters are included in admission.

Elmwood Park Zoo also offers face painting and pony rides. The schedule for these amenities varies. Additional rates apply and tickets can be purchased in the Lenore Weiss Nature Shop.

Strollers

For your convenience we are pleased to offer a limited number of strollers that may be rented during your visit. Rental rates are $3.00 for a single-seat, $5.00 for a two-seater.
