Also referred to as the bee bee, the canary-winged parakeet is very intelligent and group oriented species in the wild.  Originally found near the Amazon River, this species was introduced through the pet trade and then became an invasive species to southern Florida after a large number of them escaped captivity.  The canary-winged parakeet is a highly adaptable bird and has unbalanced the ecosystem of Florida due to this escape.
