Ages 6-8

June 12-21, August 19-23: Backyard Bonanza

We have over 400 kinds of birds, around 60 types of mammals, and over 30 different reptiles, right here in our PA neighborhoods and backyards! This week will feature meet and greets with some of our resident creepy crawlies and also some of our cutest and furriest friends! Campers will explore the zoo and surrounding creek, participate in hands-on activities and up close animal encounters.

June 24-28, July 15-19: Animal Detectives SOLD OUT

A mystery awaits! Campers will develop their problem solving skills and more during this exciting week of animal mysteries that relate to each animal’s adaptations. Campers will channel their inner detective to figure out what animal they will be meeting each day. This camp includes hands-on activities, games, and close up animal encounters.

July 1-5, August 12-16: Fossils, Feathers, and Fangs

Step back 65 million years when Brontosaurus roamed the earth and apex predators, like the Tyrannosaurus Rex, ruled the landscape. Campers will explore the extinct animals of the past and learn about how we can save the wildlife we have today. This week of camp will discover what modern day dinosaurs look like and even get to meet one of T. Rex’s closest relatives!

July 8-12, August 26-30: Junior ZooKeeper

Ever wonder what it takes to be a zookeeper? Join us to experience all the fun that comes with being a keeper! Campers will get hands-on experience prepping animal diets and learning how to train an animal. This week will feature guest talks by some of our Education and Animal Care Keepers and some close up animal encounters. A love and excitement for animals is required, khakis are not.

July 22-26: Wilderness Survivors

Animals of all shapes and sizes have special adaptations to help them survive in the wild. Campers will engage in team building games and hands-on activities to find out how animals not only survive the wilderness, but thrive! This week will feature a different team challenge each day, but no worries, no one gets voted off this island!

July 29-August 2: Zoologist in Training SOLD OUT

Plunge into the world of zoology by studying the habitats and behaviors of our zoo animals. We will design enrichment and puzzles for our animals and even learn all about animal training! Campers will observe our zoo animals and discover what animals need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. This week of camp will feature animal presentations, themed activities, and more!

August 5-9: Mission: Conservation

Animals need our help! Learn about some of the endangered and threatened animals we have here at the zoo and all about what we are doing to help these species. Each day, campers will dive into a different conservation issue and discover ways to help save wildlife in their own backyards and neighborhoods. This week features S.T.E.M based projects to spark creativity, excitement, and problem solving skills.
