Great Backyard Bird Count

Join educators as we participate yet again in the 27th annual Great Backyard Bird Count! This interactive experience is perfect for bird lovers of all ages! Participants can visit the zoo to count birds in order to help create a real-time snapshot of where birds are migrating and living. The Great Backyard Bird Count takes place across the country, and helps avian researchers gather information to better protect wild birds for the future!

Registration is Required. Registration is $5 per individual or group of up to 4 people. If you wish to visit the zoo after the program, Single Day Member admission is required for all non-yearly members.

Great Backyard Bird Count Program at Norristown Farm Park Pavilions

10:00am – 11:00am or 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Location: Norristown Farm Park Pavilions (see directions below)

This program is FREE, but registration is helpful so that we know to expect you.

 

Join our EPZ Educators as they participate in the annual Great Backyard Bird Count! With Elmwood Park Zoo’s temporary closure, we are partnering with Norristown Farm Park to host our annual exploration in our fantastic neighbor’s natural space! This interactive experience is perfect for bird lovers of all ages. Participants will get an introduction to bird watching and explore the Farm Park grounds. The count helps create a real-time snapshot of where birds are living and migrating. This nationwide event helps avian researchers gather information to better protect wild birds for the future!
This event is rain or shine. If inclement weather occurs, registrants will be contacted via email.

 

Directions to Norristown Farm Park:
The park’s main entrance is located at W. Germantown Pike and Barley Sheaf Drive. Once you are on Barley Sheaf Drive continue to the right and follow the signs to get to the pavilions.

Join educators as we participate yet again in the 23rd annual Great Backyard Bird Count! This interactive experience is perfect for bird lovers of all ages! Participants can visit the zoo to count birds in order to help create a real-time snapshot of where birds are! The Great Backyard Bird Count takes place across the country, and helps avian researchers gather information to better protect wild birds for the future! This event will take place in the Discovery Center Classroom.

This is a free program, but registration is required.
