Boo Just For You
Join us at the zoo for some special after hours trick-or-treating fun! This after-hours access of our regularly scheduled Boo at the Zoo event is specially geared for our guests with special needs along with their families and caregivers. This is a great opportunity to experience and enjoy Boo at the Zoo in a more relaxed setting, perfect for those with sensory sensitivities. Two of our indoor buildings will remain open for the event, our Barn/Contact Yard and the Vestibule inside Harmony Hideaway. Guests can walk the zoo and participate in treat stations, animal meet-and-greets, a costume parade and more! Don’t forget your costume and your trick-or-treat bag!

In May of 2018, Elmwood Park Zoo became the first zoo to earn a certification as a Certified Autism Center. The designation, given by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), is awarded to organizations that have completed a training and review process with the goal to better serve individuals with autism and other sensory needs.
