GUEST SERVICES ASSOCIATE
Position: Guest Services Associate
Reports to: Guest Services Management Team
Coordinates with: All Departments
Summary of Responsibilities:
This position requires a friendly, customer-focused individual that helps to provide an excellent visitor experience. Associates are often the first point of contact for guests and are responsible for greeting visitors, answering questions, selling tickets, and assisting with parties, events and programs. Associates must have terrific communication skills, an upbeat demeanor, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist the Zoo in fostering an appreciation of wildlife and their habitats that will inspire active participation in conservation.
- Assist management in ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all areas of the operation of the Zoo.
- To treat with confidentiality all information entrusted or known by you regarding guests, animals, business, employees, volunteers, incidents, and any other sensitive information.
- Communicate effectively with both adults and children in both group and individual settings. Always greet guests and exercise professionalism.
- Facilitate birthday parties and similar programs
- Coordinate activities and manage guest parties
- Setup and breakdown parties
- Facilitate guests entering the Zoo
- Operate ticket scanning equipment
- Respond to guest questions
- Assist all guests in a proactive and pleasant manner
- Assist with seasonal and holiday events and programming
- Help manage crowds as per management’s direction
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to frequently move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable being exposed to cold and hot weather conditions
- Friendly disposition
- Must be comfortable working around children
- Ability to maintain alertness and attentiveness to safety and proper
procedures - Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Meets the needs and expectations of the role, as per business needs
Work Experience: Entry level
Schedule: Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Schedule dependent on weather and guest attendance. Position Occasional after-hours events required.
Identification, Benefits & Wage:
Two forms of official valid identification are required. Ability to pass criminal background and child abuse clearance is required.
Wage: $14.00/hr
