Reports To: Supervisor
Schedule: Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Schedule varies and is dependent on weather and guest attendance; schedule subject to change through the spring and summer. Occasional after-hours events.
EPZ Team Member Responsibilities:
- Assist the Zoo in fostering an appreciation of wildlife and the environment that will inspire active participation in conservation
- Assist Management in ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all areas of the operation of the Zoo
- Follow and adhere to all policies and procedures
Essential duties may include
- Trained on Treetop Adventures Course operations
- Maintains log of safety checks on treetop equipment
- Able to brief guests on safety rules and regulations
- Responsible for carousel ride operation
- Facilitating ticket sales for attractions, including use of point-of-sale
- Operating and maintaining a cash register
- Overseeing guest usage of ride equipment, and ensuring adherence to all safety guidelines
- Troubleshooting any minor problems that may occur during the ride cycle
- Managing lines
- Assisting with holiday, exhibit and events set up
Qualification Requirements
- At least 17 years of age
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to frequently move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable being exposed to cold and hot weather conditions
- Ability to maintain alertness and attentiveness to safety and proper procedures
- Good verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in fast paced environments
- Ability to work well within a team
- No fear of heights
- Must be able to pass background and child abuse clearances
- Two forms of official valid identification are required
