Giraffe Barn Experience

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes peek inside the Zoo’s giraffe barn, home to our giant giraffes Mokolo, Gerald and Dhrouba!

During our Giraffe Barn Experience, you’ll receive a 20 to 30 minute guided tour led by a member of our keeper staff. You’ll learn about the fantastic care our giraffes receive, with in-depth descriptions of how our giraffes are fed and how they’re trained to receive veterinary care. You’ll also see many of the custom tools and devices our keepers use. At the end you’ll feed the giraffes some sticks and leaves from an acacia tree, which is the type of browse they naturally eat in the wild!
