Are you a teacher that hasn’t been able to get your class to the zoo for an education program? Elmwood Park Zoo is now offering live video lessons! Each lesson will include meeting one ambassador, information on the animals’ natural history, and time for question and answers. These lessons are designed to fit into your current curriculum and are designed with PA State Standards, NGSS / NJSLS-S, and Common Core.
Lessons can be booked by teachers for grades 1st through 12th. We will also book for college professors. Teachers will book through the Education Department Manager, either through phone or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Programs will need to be schedule at least two weeks in advance and can be booked anytime from 8:30am to 4pm (4pm is last opening). Lessons are designed for classes with up to 50 students.
Invoice and Confirmation will be emailed to guest right after booking. It is stated that payment is due in full 1 week before lesson. Payment will be accepted in form of check mailed to the education department or by credit card to Education Manager. Credit card will be accepted over phone or through card payment form that has been emailed to guest. Lesson is priced at $50 for a 30 minute session.
Cancellations must be emailed to email@example.com 24 hours in advance to program date. We do not offer refunds, but will try to reschedule if necessary.
Each lesson will be 30 minutes long. This time will include meeting one ambassador, a lesson on the animals’ natural history, and time at the end for question and answers. The animals for the lesson can be any animal from the Education Ambassador collection, except for the Bald Eagle.
