Zoo-On-Wheels

Bring the zoo to your school, club, church, senior center, library or other public venue. Live animals and interesting artifacts help bring learning to life. Each program is tailored to the age of the audience or programs can be custom-designed to fit your curriculum.

For the safety of our animals and guests we do not allow guests to touch our animals during programs. We can not always promise specific animals due to last second changes that may occur. Thank you for understanding.

Programs

Preschool (ages 2-5) - 20 Minute Program - $200.00

These programs engage young learners with interesting animal artifacts that they can touch and live animals that they can see up close. Minimum of 15 students. Maximum of 30 students. 

*If over 30 students, you will be required to book an $100 add-on program

Additional programs (up to 2 can be added per day) $100 per addition

Sorting Species

Students explore the characteristics of different vertebrates such as birds, mammals, and reptiles and learn that animals can be classified into different groups based on their features.

Sensational Animals

Students take an in-depth look at our five senses and explore the differences and similarities with how they’re used in the animal kingdom.

Whose Habitat is That?

Students learn about different animal homes and all the components of a habitat

Kindergarten through Second Grade - 30 Minute Program - $250.00

Minimum of 15 students. Maximum of 50 students. 

*If over 50 students, you will be required to book an $175 add-on program

Additional programs (up to 2 can be added per day) $175 per addition

30 Minute Programs - $300.00

50 Minute Programs - $350.00

These programs are designed to aid teachers in meeting Pennsylvania Academic Standards for environmental and natural science in their curriculum. Minimum of 15 students. Up to 50 students permitted. $50 for every additional 50 students. Additional programs (up to 2 can be added per day) $175 per addition.

We explore the different threats facing many animals and why many are endangered, as well as what we can do to help

Animal Adaptations

Webbed feet, wings, camouflage and quills are all unique features. We learn how animals utilize them to live and thrive


Elmwood Park Zoo is proud to be a recognized by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) as a Certified Autism Center. 

Fairs and Special Events - $500 for 2 hour set up

30 Minute Program - $725 with added program

The zoo provides a fun and educational addition to any fair or event. We will provide live animals and a display table with furs, feathers, shells and skulls for guests to touch and explore. You also have an option to include a 30 minute program featuring live animals. Please note: our animals cannot be near or mixed with non-zoo animals. We do not attend festivals where pets are welcome and our display table can not be placed near any loud music or noises. 

Educator Talk (no animals)- $150 for 30 Minute Program

or $200 for 50 Minute Program

Up to 100 students permitted. $50 for every additional 50 students. Additional programs (up to 2 can be added per day) $125 per addition. If there is a 20+ min gap between programs there will be a $25 fee.

Interested in just having an educator speak to your class without the animals?  We can schedule a program for your group and discuss either Zoo Careers or Zoo Exhibit Design for those students interested in a more detailed lesson.

A flat mileage will be charged:

0-10 miles: $15.00

10-25 miles: $25.00

26-50 miles: $35.00

51-95 miles: $55.00

Maximum distance is 90 minutes

If the gap between programs is over 30 minutes, there is a $25 charge. The gap can not exceed 45 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: THE SUBMISSION OF THIS FORM DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR PROGRAM. A ZOO EMPLOYEE WILL CONTACT YOU ONCE YOUR INQUIRY IS SUBMITTED. PROGRAMS ARE NOT CONSIDERED BOOKED UNTIL AN INVOICE HAS BEEN SENT.
It is recommended that programs be booked at least 4 weeks in advanced for availability.  Full payment is due 2 week prior to the day of the zoo-on-wheels visit.  Payment is non-refundable.
